How we assess products
Elovi is an editorial product-discovery platform. Every recommendation is assessed the same way, using information we can verify — so the Elovi Score is honest and explainable rather than falsely precise.
Everyday usefulness — How directly and dependably it helps with a real, everyday task.
Ease of use — How simple it is to use for the people we write for.
Value — Whether the price looks reasonable for what the product does.
Suitability — How well it fits people trying to make daily life a little easier.
Reputable sourcing — Whether it comes from a credible brand or retailer with a working product link.
How the Elovi Score works
The Elovi Score is our editorial rating out of 10. We assess every product against the same criteria — everyday usefulness, ease of use, value, suitability and reputable sourcing — using the manufacturer's stated information, product specifications and retailer details. It is an editorial judgement based on available information, not a lab or hands-on test, and it is never influenced by commercial relationships.
9.0–10An exceptional option for its intended everyday use.
8.0–8.9A strong recommendation, with only minor considerations.
7.0–7.9A good option, but with meaningful trade-offs to weigh.
Below 7Generally not prioritised for recommendation.
What the score does not mean
An Elovi Score does not mean that we have:
- physically tested every product ourselves
- carried out laboratory or clinical testing
- given medical, health or professional advice
- independently certified the product

Commercial independence
Affiliate relationships never determine the Elovi Score. A product does not get a higher score because we might earn a commission from it, and it is not included because of any commercial relationship. Where we do earn a commission, it’s disclosed — see our affiliate disclosure.
